Educational plan and 4 Terms of content.
I supported Becca during her 'mainstream to home school' decision making process, we talked on the phone and by messenger chats and together we created an educational plan for her AP interview.
The plan responded to all the requirements as per the Guidelines, and then outlined a 4 x term program of learning activities & resources (matched to NSW syllabus outcomes), across two different learning stages to match the level of support needed for her child.
Planning to complete year 10.
A mid-year transition into home schooling plan was created for Danielle, with the aim of the student completing year 10. We matched learning interests with syllabus outcomes, took into consideration previous school-based knowledge, added the 2 elective subject outcomes, and then included engaging, hands-on learning activities, and some online programs. The plan rounded out the current term and also provided learning activities for term 3 and 4 of 2025.
Understanding the syllabus outcomes and matching up everyday activities.
Tracy had posted on FB asking for some help to understand the NSW syllabus outcomes, so that she would be able to prepare for her upcoming AP review by showing how her home school activities linked into the curriculum.
I reached out to offer my support and we worked out the best approach was for me to create a template which included both stage 1 and stage 2 syllabus outcomes 'translated' into everyday language so that Tracy was able to complete her records.
Clarifying the meanings of the syllabus outcomes for each key learning area provided Tracy with a confidence boost and the ability to easily manage her families home school records.
From notebook to template - educational plan sorted!
Tanias preparation for her stage 5 home school application was well underway, with loads of notes in her notebook which addressed the key learning areas. I assisted this parent by typing her notes into my template, aligning the activities she had identified for her student under each KLA, and also created a summary of the students interests and capabilities so Tania was ready to go with her AP interview.
I provided Tracy with some additional content files so that she had an entire year worth of resources at her fingertips!
